Ohms law is an important part of science. Ohm’s law was discovered by Dr. George Simon Ohm in 1826. This law was named Om’s law after his name.

What is Ohm’s law? | ओम का नियम क्या है ?

Ohm’s law is an important law of physics. The formula for Ohms law establishes the relationship between voltage, current and resistance.

According to Ohms law, the voltage across a conductor in a closed circuit is proportional to the current flowing through it. This is called Ohm’s law.

In other language, if there is no change in the physical state of a conductor like area, length, thickness, temperature etc., then the voltage across the ends of the conductor is proportional to the current flowing in that conductor.

According to Ohm’s law

Voltage ∝ Current
V ∝ I
V = IR or I = V/R

Where
V = Voltage, Unit : Volt (v)
I = Current, Unit : Ampere (A)
R = Resistance, Unit : Ohm (Ω)

What is Electric Current (विद्युत धारा)?

The flow of charge (electrons) in a conductor in a closed circuit is called current. The SI unit of current is Ampere (A).

What is resistance (प्रतिरोध)?

It is the property of a conductor that causes obstruction or resistance to the flow of current. The SI unit of resistance is Ohm (Ω).

What is voltage?

The electrical force of current flowing in a conductor is called potential difference or voltage. The SI unit of potential difference is Volt (v).

Example of ohms law (ओम के नियम का उदाहरण)

Question 1: If I = 4A and R = 8Ω, calculate the voltage?

Answer:
According to Ohm’s law

V = IR
V = 4 x 8
V = 32V

Question 2: If V = 20 V and R = 4Ω, then calculate the current?

Answer:
According to Ohm’s law

I = V/R
I = 20/4
I = 5A
