You’ll learn how to integrate Visual Paradigm (VP) with Visual Studio (VS) step by step in this post. We’ve included a screenshot for each step to assist you understand the integration.

Select IDE Integration menu in Visual Paradigm
In this step you have to open the Visual Paradigm application in administrator mode which is mandatory.
Go to Window | Integration | IDE Integration…

Check on Visual Studio Integration Checkbox
Select the “Visual Studio Integration” checkbox before moving on to the next step. You can see that there are additional options available here. You can use VP application with Eclipse and NetBeans.

Select Visual Studio version from drop down
If you have more than one Visual Studio, you must pick the Visual Studio version you want to integrate here.

Integration will be started
Integration will be started here. You may have to wait some time for the integration process to complete.

Integration will be finished
After you’ve finished integrating VP and Visual Studio, you’ll see a window like this. You may start using Visual Studio and build UML diagrams from this step.

Open Visual Studio and create a project
Create new project in Visual Studio or open an existing project for which you wish to create a UML diagram.

Go to Solution Explorer and Click on Open Visual Paradigm
Open Solution explorer section and right click on Project and then click on Open Visual Paradigm.

Select or Create default path option
Here you can create VP project path or you can select existing path. If you select “Create or select existing project at external location” then if can specify the external path where you wish to create project.

Create new UML diagram in Diagram Navigator of Visual Paradigm
In this step you can create UML diagram as per your requirement.

Select classes and click on Update UML model
Go to the Solution Explorer section and right click on the classes you want to include in the UML diagram and then click Update UML Model.

All classes will be available in Model Explorer
Go to Model Explore where you can see the selected classes which you have selected in the above step. In this step you can drag/select classes in the diagram by drag and drop action.

Save Visual Paradigm Project
To save project, you have to go to the File menu and click on Save Visual Paradigm Project.
